Welcome to Debbie Randall Ceramics

At Tortus Studio, Copenhagen.

We started working with Debbie for the opening of Lucky Cat; we wanted to get some of London’s premier craftspeople into the restaurant design and table top. Debbie has made sake cups and carafes, sushi plates, sashimi bowls and some incredible tiny sauce jugs along side some custom plates to serve whole grilled fish. We literally point Debbie in a rough direction we are looking at and leave the rest to her. Her glazes are always on point and unique. The confidence we have in Debbie is knowing us as clients, means it’s such an easy process. So proud to work with her.

About - The Maker

Ceramics have been my passion for over 20 years. My journey to this creative form began as a mature student attending Camberwell College of Arts, where I gained a BA (hons) in Ceramics. Doing the single honours degree was a joy. We had time to explore various pottery disciplines and we learnedfrom so many fabulous artists & crafts people which has contributed so much to the artist I am today. It was at Camberwell where I fell for throwing - never having sat on a wheel before then, and to my surprise at the end of the course I was teaching a student of my own, in the same college.

After college I joined North Street Potters (@northstreetpotters) in Clapham, South London. A pottery with over 40 years established and renowned experience.

This amazing experience was a great foundation for setting up a pottery studio space of my own, and I was so excited to launched my business, Debbie Randall Ceramics.

My handcrafted thrown forms, mainly tableware, are made in stoneware and porcelain. My shapes and glazes are influenced by classic Korean, Chinese and Japanese ceramics. The graphic nature of the glaze style allows me to express the balance between the shape and surface of my pots.

Balance is important to me, especially in my black & white glazing, as I am expressing aspects of myself - my diverse history and culture. Also my exploration of togetherness verses separation and what results from merging. My individual studio and display pieces often elude to landscape or coastlines.

The range of my work includes one off studio pieces, commissions for individuals and restaurants.

My ceramic practice is not just work to me, it is one of my forms self expression, my creative outlet and my wheel is where I feel most at ease – (usually).

I hope you find as much joy in my work as I do in creating it.
